Health & Safety Disclaimer
What shymind.com is, and what it is not.
Last updated: October 3, 2026On this page
1. Not Medical or Psychological Treatment
shymind.com is a self-help, education, and peer-coaching platform. Its AI chat assistant, self-help tools, Training Grounds exercises, and Expert Marketplace are designed to support general confidence-building and social skills practice. They are not a substitute for professional medical care, psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, or diagnosis. If you are experiencing persistent anxiety, depression, or another mental health condition, please consult a licensed healthcare provider.
2. Not a Crisis or Emergency Service
shymind.com is a global platform, but it is not equipped to respond to emergencies and is not monitored for crisis situations in real time. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services number right away.
If you're having thoughts of suicide or are in emotional distress, free and confidential crisis lines exist in most countries. You can find one for your location at findahelpline.com, a free global directory of crisis helplines. As two widely used examples: in the United States, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) 24/7; in the United Kingdom and Ireland, you can call 116 123 (Samaritans) free, 24/7.
3. Expert Qualifications Vary
Experts on the platform are independent coaches and mentors with a range of backgrounds; not all are licensed medical or mental health professionals, and any verification badge shown reflects our review of documents an Expert chose to submit, not a guarantee of outcomes. Check an Expert's stated background and, if you need clinical care, seek a licensed provider directly.
4. AI Chat Limitations
The AI assistant generates responses automatically and can be incomplete, generic, or occasionally incorrect. It does not know your full history, cannot assess risk, and should not be relied on for decisions that affect your health or safety.
